This Fun Fish was inspired by the self portraits of artist Frida Kahlo. Some of her work appears fun and whimsical, but beneath the rich color, they tell the story of her pain and struggle. After illness and a life changing accident, leaving her in constant pain and immobile, she painted from her bed, telling the stories with fierce determination and passion, of her Mexican heritage and her lifelong personal struggles.
