Fish bring clarity.

 

The first fish I painted was a gift for my son's 2nd grade teacher. I wanted to give her something special because she made such an impact on his development.  She took his struggle with reading, and turned reading into his superpower.

 

Painting her a fish in a bowl felt special. It felt fun and spontaneous. It reminded me of a Dr Seuss book and that seemed fitting. 

 

 After that first fish, I became obsessed.  I wasn't sure why at first, but with every fish I painted, the meanings and connections became clearer and clearer.
